Post Cardiac Surgery Home-Monitoring System

چکیده
One of the major factors limiting but also causing the application of modern technology in medicine is the response time to patients, should they need specialized medical care. In this work we propose a solution that is aiming to help and improve the patients’ life after a cardiac surgery. This is a group of patients that have to be monitored for a short period after the operation. The aim of this project is to give the opportunity to these patients to be monitored at home after their operation so as to keep their rehabilitation period as smooth as possible and avoid unnecessary visits to the hospital or prevent adverse events. This is going to be achieved by creating an integrated webbased system which can regularly monitor several biosignals like ECG, blood pressure, arterial SpO2 and parameters like body weight and provide the tools to identify any unusual events.

The prospective validation of EuroSCORE II risk scoring system for patients underwent cardiac surgery: brief report
Background: Various prediction models have been developed aiming to estimate risk-adjusted mortality, morbidity and length of intensive care unit stay following cardiac surgeries. The European system for cardiac operative risk evaluation II (EuroSCORE II) is a prediction model which maps 18 predictors to a 30-day post-operative risk of death. The objective of this study was to evaluate the perf...

The implantation of cardiac electronic devices (CIEDs) has increased exponentially over the last decade in response to widening indications. Assessment of post-implant system performance is an important responsibility but challenging in view of increasing volume, device complexity, and advisory notices. Automatic remote home monitoring (HM) may satisfy these difficult monitoring demands. When t...

Background: The basic requirements for monitoring anesthetized patients during surgery are assessing cardiac and respiratory function. Esophageal stethoscopes have been developed for this purpose, but these devices may not provide clear heart and lung sound due to existence of various noises in operating rooms. In addition, the stethoscope is not applicable for continues monitoring, and it is u...

P52 Coagulation is a complex process that results in blood forming clots at tissue and vessel sites where damage has occurred, thereby stopping bleeding. Cardiac surgery extensively alters the normal coagulation process both intentionally and unintentionally. More often than not, cardiac surgery uses cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) for intervention and surgical correction. Before initiating cardio...
